Driving in Jokkmokk takes you quickly from one place to the other as the road network is well maintained, extensive and underused by most European standards.
Distances from one village to the next can be extensive, but pleasant. Care must be taken when traveling by night as animals can be encountered on the roads in Jokkmokk, as in all parts of Sweden.
The bus and train network within Sweden is extensive and the main train service to Jokkmokk is based in Murjek. Buses run from Murjek to Jokkmokk several times each day. In the summer the Inlandsbanan train service operates and travels extensively through the top two thirds of Sweden.
Cycling in Jokkmokk and most of Sweden is a pleasure. There are excellent cycle paths and renting a bicycle can be a quick and healthy method of getting around locally.
