Importing Your Animals
For bringing animals into Sweden, the requirements described here apply to direct import from various countries, no matter what their age. If you are bringing dogs and cats from the UK, Ireland or Malta, the requirements described here apply to direct import from Ireland, Malta and the UK of all dogs and cats, no matter what their age.
Direct import means that the animal arrives by air or by ship directly in Sweden. If the flight makes an intermediate landing, this still counts as direct import provided that the animal does not leave the airport.
If the animal is brought to Sweden via other EU Member States, or if you're traveling through another EU country, or you leave the airport in another EU country, you will need to comply with the general import requirements for dogs and cats from the EU.
For pets coming from non EU Countries, please see conditions listed here. Information on reporting to the Swedish Customs with your pets can be found here.
