The Jokkmokk Area
The Municipality of Jokkmokk lies just above the Arctic Circle and is Sweden’s second largest district. The total area is over 10,000 square miles and consists of thousands of lakes, several large rivers and thousands of square kilometres of forest.
Jokkmokk Town is populated by around 3500 people. Jokkmokk County has over 5500 people living within its borders and is the size of Northern Ireland. Jokkmokk Town has two supermarkets, three petrol stations, two large hotels, tourist facilities including campsites, numerous businesses including handicraft workshops and showrooms, museums and two magnificent churches.
